For the last few years Jose Raymond has been one of the most dominant forces in the 212 division, and coming off of a season that saw him bring home wins at the New Zealand Pro Show and at the Europa Phoenix, it looks like once again The Boston Mass is ready to unleash a world of hurt on the 212 division.
With just six weeks to go until he makes his second consecutive appearance at the Arnold Classic, Raymond looks to be firing on all cylinders, and heading into Columbus looking to cement himself as the primary threat to unseat reigning Olympia champ Flex Lewis later in the year.
At last year’s contest Raymond was considered among the favorites to contend for the show’s inaugural title, after failing to come in at 100% and running into a top heavy lineup, tumbled down to a disappointing 5th place. But once again Raymond has teamed up with legendary guru Chris Aceto, and judging by his most recent photo’s (below,) looks to be on track to prevent history from repeating itself.
Pound for pound Raymond is one of the most densely muscled athletes in the sport, but with so much muscle packed onto his 5’4 frame, he needs to hit the stage shredded, dry, and with his trademark roadmap vascularity to avoid looking boxy. If Jose can manage to recreate the same look we saw him close out the year with in Phoenix, there’s a very good chance he’ll find himself as the last man standing when the dust settles.
