Winning Hertford

There may not be an athlete in the sport with better symmetry than Juan Morel. Ever since he first popped onto the bodybuilding radar way back in 2008, Morel’s been tagged with the dubious distinction of being a potential future Mr. Olympia, and after a very impressive rookie campaign that saw him win the Hartford Pro back in 2012, it feels like Morel’s stock has been on a meteoric rise.

Over the last few years Morel has slow but surely been packing slabs of quality muscle on his frame, while still managing to hit the stage with his trademark level of inside out conditioning.

Recently Morel released a few new offseason photos that show the man appropriately nicknamed Diesel, looking absolutely ridiculous at a shredded 287 pounds.

Morel has announced that once again he’s planning on competing in front of his home crowd at the New York Pro, where he took second in last year’s contest behind a terrifying version of Big Ramy. However, each of the last three years Morel has managed to improve his placing on one of bodybuilding’s biggest stages, and after last year’s runner up performance, it’ll be interesting to see if the bigger, badder, and much improved 2015 version of Juan Morel will be enough to propel him to the victory.
